Description
The met-bar® PVC Insulated
Single Bar Conductor System
is used for the safe transmission
of electrical power to mobile
machines.
Overhead cranes and hoist monorails
being typical applications.
The system is designed to conform
with international touchproof
safety regulations which require
that a prescribed testfinger
cannot contact the conductor
bar when applied with a 2kg
pressure.
The concave conductor shape
provides a centralising feature
for the collector brush contact.
Phase conductors are coloured
white and the earth conductor
is coloured green for separate
identity.The recommended spacing
between longitudinal hanger
supports is 1.5 metres for the
100/250amp systems and 1.66
metres for the 130/400amp systems.
The centre distance between
adjacent bars is as per table
below.
We recommend that a hanger support
is positioned within 150mm of
a joint position.
It is important to ensure that
the collectors are installed
in the correct position relative
to the conductor bar. Curved
systems are available on request.
