Plastic Drag Chains

Metreel's range of Plastic Drag Chains are designed to protect and convey cables and hoses for x, y and z axis on machine tools, robots and material handling equipment.

An important feature od drag chains is the ability to carry electricity, gases and fluids sinultaneously in any combination to suit the application.

Positive snap together design eliminates the need for auxiliary fasteners and special tools.

POWERTRAK P Series

POWERTRAK P series is supplied in pre-assembled application or stock lengths.

Designed to eliminate wear on cables/hoses and to be self-supporting for modest travel lengths but is also suitable for long travels when guided by trays.

A wide range of capacities and bending radii is available to suit a variety of cables and hoses.

Standard colour is Matt Black although other colours are available as a custom order, subject to volume.

POWERTRAK G Series

POWERTRAK G series - Suitable for heavy duty applications with moulded fibreglass reinforced black nylon side links that offer hgih strength and low weight.

Three sizes of links are available with bend radii from 125 to 611mm.

Fourteen styles of carriers are available, ranging in length from 100 to 450mm.

Heavy duty steel mounting brackets on each end of POWERTRAK chain bands adjust to a variety of configurations.

Guide Trays & Carriage Systems

Guide Trays are required when the recommended self-supported travel lengths are exceeded. This occurs when the total travel required exceeds the ability of the drag chain to supports its own weight plus the weight of the cables and hoses being carried.Teh result is negative camber. Since nylon is a good bearing materials and has an excellent memory, the negative camber is an advantage for long travels. It simply rides on itself or on a carriage system (according to application) and only needs minimal guidance.

The fixed end of the drag chain assembly is typically located at the centre of its travel. When the moveable end on a standard tray system is pulled past the fixed end, it rides on rollers. If a carriage is used, it rides on angles because the carriage includes its own rollers. A carriage is recommended for high speeds and/or heavy loads.

Opposed drag chain units can be used if cable and hose payloads exceed the capacity of the largest model available. This divides the load or can conveniently segregate the cables and hoses.
