Project Description

Finzels Reach is an office and housing development in the centre of Bristol and at its heart is Bridgewater House. At 110,500sq ft, Bridgewater House is a flagship office building, boasting a central glass-topped atrium that spans the full height.

A secure system was required to ensure the atrium’s glass clad walls are well-maintained.

Met-Track Abseil Fall Arrest

from Metreel

A specialist height safety company contacted Metreel after seeing a sample of the Met-Track® rigid rail abseil system. After comparing it with other alternatives, they found the Met-Track system was best suited to the building’s structure due to its features and compatibility.

A site visit was arranged with the developers, during which details were discussed regarding integration, safe access, and user numbers for the Met-Track® system. Satisfied with the proposal, a Met-Track® rigid rail abseil system was quoted.

To ensure the system was built to accommodate Bridgewater House, Metreel’s design engineers worked closely with the developers, providing numerous drawings and calculations that addressed any questions or concerns.

Once everything was signed off, the Met-Track® rigid rail abseil system was installed. Boasting 30 metres in length with three 90º curves, the system allows safe access to the atrium, ensuring workers can easily reach it without risking their safety.
