Project Description
A leading manufacturer of door and window hardware including bi–fold doors, injection moulded plastic products and die-cast products required a more efficient and safer solution to moving and lifting their heavy steel moulds.
The production of the plastic and die-cast products requires the use of steel moulds which need to be changed when switching between the numerous products they manufacture. The company’s internal risk assessments concluded that the use of forklift trucks with lifting straps was no longer practical with the amount of changes required to satisfy increased demand.

Met-Track® Workstation Jib Cranes
Solution
Metreel conducted a site survey and proposed to supply a number of Met-Track over-braced Jib Cranes each with a 1000kg safe working load and a 2-speed chain hoist. The Met-Track Jib cranes could be used to remove parts of the injection moulding or diecasting machines for routine maintenance safely and efficiently.
