Leading the industry, spring-operated reels are the perfect, practical method for the automatic payout, retrieval and storage of cable and wires. Manufactured from high-quality materials and built for demanding environments, our reels have been trusted by all industry customer types since the 1940s.
In 2020, Metreel acquired Metool’s renowned range of reeling drums, adding even more value and innovation to the Metreel reeling drum offering.
SC spring-operated cable reeling drums
The SC reeling drum range has robust, durable and weatherproof qualities, making them an ideal solution for indoor and outdoor environments.
Manufactured from heavy-gauge steel, the reel revolves on sealed-for-life ball races, resulting in a completely maintenance-free product. For over eighty years, the springs within the reels have served our clients. The SC range is of ‘clock spring’ or ‘spiral wound’ spring type and can be assembled in a series, parallel or in a single rotation, for a wide range of characteristics and performances.

SCXL spring-operated cable reeling drums
An expansion of the SC range, the SCXL reeling drum features a larger drum ideal for demanding industrial applications. The increased drum size offers extra cable or wire capacity, and, alongside its heavy-duty construction, the SCXL reeling drum provides efficient protection for indoor or outdoor environments.

Motor Driven Cable Reel
The MRT torque range is a reliable, durable and cost-efficient motorised reeling drum, engineered in-house. The reel efficiently delivers power to your machinery via cable components and is mounted directly onto the torque motor.
Customisable to fit various cable sizes and lengths, and perform in a range of temperatures, they are ideal for complex applications.
With easy installation and minimal maintenance ensuring a long lifespan, these reels are highly cost-effective.

SD Hose Reels
Manufactured for high performance, the SD hose reel range is suitable for a range of demanding applications, including maintenance shops, garages and workshops.
Spring-operated, made from heavy-duty materials, and designed for minimal maintenance, the SD range features a roller guide and stop-catch to relieve tension.
The SD hose reels are highly versatile and effective at reducing downtime, making them an optimum solution for industrial facilities.

Earth Bonding Reels
Earth bonding reels are designed for aircraft and other refuelling applications where fuel transfer can generate static electricity build-up, and result in spark hazards.
Fixed to the chassis or frame of the refuelling tanker, the reel is self-retracting and carries up to forty metres of high-conductivity copper braided cables. A universal heavy-duty spring clamp completes the circuit to the aircraft or other vehicles.
