Each structure contains two composite poles that required a ladder system with built in vertical fall arrest system to allow maintenance work to be carried out safely but without the unsightly steelwork.

Due to the requirements for an ‘aesthetically’ pleasing system, Met-Track® believed that the Invisirung® ladder system was the best solution for this project, a system that offers all of the features and safety benefits of a standard industrial ladder but with minimal interference to the surroundings due to its slim line appearance.

The Invisirung^® ladder sections were supplied to Balfour Beatty who installed each 24m composite pole with a 20m length of Invisirung^® before being erected on the project site that spans a distance of 22km.

A specialist Erickson S-64 Air Crane helicopter was brought in from the USA to lift and install the poles, allowing the construction team to overcome the rugged terrain whilst minimising disturbance to the environment and community.
